Privacy policy

How we handle personal information collected through this website.

Effective 26 October 2026

Policy sections

Who we are

This website, gopds.net, is run by Pharmaceutical Data Services, 3000 Whitney Ave, Box 138, Hamden, CT 06518. “We” on this page means Pharmaceutical Data Services.

What this policy covers

Personal information collected through this website, and when you email us or book a demo. Data we handle for a client under an engagement is governed by that engagement’s contract, not by this page.

Information we collect

What you send us. When you email us, we receive your message, your email address, and anything else you include, such as your name, company, and role.

Booking a demo. If you book a demo, Calendly, the scheduling service we use, collects what you enter when you book, such as your name, your email address, and any answers to its booking questions, along with the time you choose, and passes them to us. The calendar loads when you open the Book a demo window, and Calendly sets its own cookies when it does.

Analytics, only if you accept. If you choose “Accept analytics” in the cookie banner, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity collect information about how you use the site, described below. If you choose “Essential only”, neither loads.

Server logs. Like any website, our hosting provider records technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser, and the page requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure. Our hosting provider keeps these logs only as long as it needs to run and secure the site, under its own terms.

How we use it

We use what you send us to reply to you and to arrange and hold a demo you ask for. We use analytics to understand which pages are useful and where the site is hard to use, so we can improve it.

We may also email you news and information about PDS services similar to those you asked about. You can stop these at any time by writing to info@gopds.net.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it or share it for targeted advertising. We use analytics only internally, to see how people use this site. Google and Microsoft provide these tools to us under their own terms.

We do not use personal information collected through this website to train AI models.

Analytics

Google Analytics receives information such as the address of each page you view and the page you came from, both without any query string; your approximate location, to the city, worked out from your IP address, which Google Analytics does not store; your device, browser, and language; how far you scroll; links you follow to other sites; and whether you click Book a demo. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off. Google Analytics keeps event-level data for 14 months; summary reports that do not identify anyone may be kept longer.

Microsoft Clarity records how you move through a page, such as clicks, scrolling, and taps, to produce session replays and heatmaps. We set Clarity to hide all text on the page, so recordings do not show what you read. Clarity keeps recordings for 30 days, except a small random sample that Microsoft keeps for up to 9 months.

Microsoft also sets cookies on its own domains that can recognize your browser on other websites that use Clarity. These are Microsoft’s cookies, not ours, and they are set only if you accept analytics.

Both tools set cookies, listed in our cookie policy.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that run the site and our correspondence for us: Google, for Google Analytics; Microsoft, for Clarity; Calendly, for booking demos; our hosting provider; and our email provider. Each receives the data to provide its service to us, under its own terms. We share nothing with anyone else, except as set out under “Business transfers” and “Legal disclosure”.

Business transfers

If PDS is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of its business or assets, personal information may be transferred as part of it, including during negotiations. We will post notice on this page before your personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Legal disclosure

We may disclose personal information if the law requires it, or in response to a valid request from a public authority, such as a court or a government agency. We may also disclose it when we believe in good faith that it is necessary to:

  • comply with a legal obligation
  • protect and defend the rights or property of PDS
  • prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with this website
  • protect the personal safety of this website’s users or the public
  • protect against legal liability
How long we keep it

Analytics data is kept for the periods above. Messages and bookings are kept only as long as we need them to respond to you and to keep a record of our business correspondence. We may keep information longer where the law requires it, or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold. No method of sending information over the internet or storing it electronically is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You can decline analytics, or withdraw your consent at any time, with “Cookie settings” at the foot of every page. Withdrawing deletes the analytics cookies set on this site.

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing info@gopds.net. We may keep some information where the law requires us to.

If you live in California, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, you have further rights, set out below.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as choosing “Essential only”: neither analytics tool loads, and the banner does not ask. If you later turn analytics on yourself with “Cookie settings”, we follow that choice.

California: what we collect

This section applies if you live in California and adds to the rest of this policy. It uses the categories of the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. In the past 12 months we have collected:

  • Identifiers: your name, email address, IP address, and the online identifiers analytics cookies hold.
  • Customer records (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e)): your name, and your phone number if you include it in an email.
  • Commercial information: what you are trying to solve, and the services you ask us about or book a demo of.
  • Professional information: your company and role, if you tell us.
  • Internet or network activity: how you use this website, as described under “Analytics”.
  • Geolocation: your approximate location, to the city, worked out from your IP address. We do not collect precise geolocation.

We do not collect protected characteristics, biometric information, sensory data, education information, inferences drawn to profile you, or sensitive personal information.

We collect it from you directly, when you email us or book a demo; automatically, through analytics if you accept it and through our host’s server logs; and from Calendly, which passes us your booking. We use it for the purposes under “How we use it”, and to keep the site secure and comply with the law. In the past 12 months we have disclosed each category above for a business purpose, only to the service providers named under “Who we share it with”.

California: selling and sharing

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done either in the past 12 months, and we do not sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. Even so, we treat “Essential only”, Global Privacy Control, and Do Not Track as a request to opt out.

We do not collect sensitive personal information, so there is nothing for the right to limit its use to apply to. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing, as California’s “Shine the Light” law describes.

California: your rights

If you live in California, you have the right to:

  • Know the categories of personal information we collected about you, their sources, why we collected them, the categories of recipients, and the specific pieces we hold.
  • Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to the exceptions the law allows, such as completing a booking you asked for, keeping the site secure, or complying with a legal obligation.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
  • Not be discriminated against for using any of these rights.
California: making a request

Email info@gopds.net, or write to Pharmaceutical Data Services, 3000 Whitney Ave, Box 138, Hamden, CT 06518. Requests are free.

We will confirm we received your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need longer, we will tell you why, and may take up to 45 more days. To verify your request, we match the details you give us with what we hold, such as the email address you wrote from.

You may make a request through an authorized agent. We will ask for your signed permission, and may ask you to confirm your identity with us directly.

What we tell you covers the 12 months before your request. You can ask for longer, back to 1 January 2022, unless that proves impossible or would take disproportionate effort.

EEA and UK: who is responsible

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation or the UK GDPR may apply to your personal information. Pharmaceutical Data Services is its controller, and you can reach us at the contact details below.

EEA and UK: why we may use it
  • Replying to you and arranging a demo: steps you ask us to take before a possible contract, and our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries.
  • Analytics: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with “Cookie settings”.
  • Server logs and security: our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
  • News about our services: our legitimate interest in telling business contacts about services similar to those they asked about. You can object at any time.
  • Legal disclosure and records the law requires: our legal obligations.

You do not have to give us any personal information, but without your email address we cannot reply to you. We do not make decisions about you by automated means alone.

EEA and UK: your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal information and receive a copy of it.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Erase information when there is no good reason for us to keep it.
  • Restrict how we use it while a question about it is settled.
  • Object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests, and at any time to its use for direct marketing.
  • Port information you gave us, where we use it by consent or for a contract, in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, which does not affect what we did before.

To use any of these rights, email info@gopds.net. We may ask you to verify your identity. We will respond within one month, or tell you within that month if we need up to two more because the request is complex. You can also complain to your local data protection authority or, in the UK, to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Children

This website is for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email info@gopds.net and we will delete it.

Where data is processed

We are based in the United States, and information you send us is processed there. Our service providers may process data in other countries under their own terms.

Links to other websites

This website links to sites we do not run. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and we suggest reading their policies.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top. If a change would affect how we use information we have already collected, we will ask for your consent first.
